4 LAPD Officers Injured In Woodland Hills Crash

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Authorities say four Los Angeles police officers were injured, one critically, when a 64-year-old woman crashed her car into two police cruisers in Woodland Hills.

Police spokeswoman Norma Eisenman says all four officers were standing nearby when the black Jaguar collided with the cruisers, causing a chain reaction crash early Saturday.

Two officers remain hospitalized, one with severe injuries. Two other officers were treated and released.

Sgt. John Willingham tells City News Service the injuries to the officers included broken noses, broken legs, lacerated livers and broken ribs.

Eisenman says investigators don't believe alcohol was involved and the driver of the Jaguar may have fallen asleep at the wheel. The woman suffered only minor injuries.

No charges have been filed. The investigation is ongoing.

The officers were responding to a fight at a loud house party.
