Finally! Our Criminal of the Week Isn't a Dumb Criminal of the Week

Finally, a criminal of the week, who's not on our list of dumb criminals of the week. In Tavares, Florida, Larry Stone noticed that phone calls that don't go through, result in more than refunded money, they can result in double refunded money. It's not a cash deal, the funds come from --and go to-- inmates' accounts. 

 

Brother Larry exploited the glitch, by making a lot of calls, and hanging up before they connected.  End result: he added $1,250. to his jailhouse account.  And it gets better: he used his newfound riches to post  bond.  Well done, Larry. He was a free man for a couple of hours, until jailers noticed all the other inmates copying his trick.

 

So Larry's not a dumb criminal of the week. Except for the fact that he was in jail in the first place, and was found pretty easily and rearrested to face new charges.  Other than that....
