Clark Gable's Grandson Arrested For Pointing Laser At LAPD Helicopter

HOLLYWOOD (CBS) — Actor Clark Gable's grandson and another man were in custody in Hollywood Friday after being arrested on suspicion of pointing a laser device at a police helicopter, authorities said.

Clark James Gable, 22, and Maximilian Anderson, 23, were arrested after a pilot on a patrolling helicopter notified ground units that a "bright green laser light" had illuminated the cockpit of the aircraft as it was flying near Sunset Boulevard and La Brea Avenue, according to an officer at the LAPD's Hollywood Station.

The source of the laser light was a moving vehicle, according to the pilot, who tracked the vehicle until it was stopped by officers on the ground, police said. While the vehicle was being tracked, the laser device allegedly was pointed at the helicopter two more times, police said.

The occupants of the vehicle -- Gable and Anderson -- were booked for the felony offense, and each was held this morning on $250,000 bail. Police did not say which man was driving.

Gable is an aspiring actor and reality television star.
