Arcadia Police Warn Residents Of Prowler

ARCADIA (CBS) — The Arcadia Police Department is looking for a prowler who has made several attempts to burglarize homes this week.

Police say the suspect appears to be looking for a crime of opportunity, targeting unlocked windows and doors in the hot summer nights.

The first incident occurred early Tuesday morning when the prowler went into a home in the 100 block of Diamond Street. The suspect entered the home through an unlocked front door, officials said. A woman awoke to find the suspect standing over her shinning a flash light. He stole her purse and ran out of the home, police said.

The second incident occurred Wednesday night on West Walnut Avenue when a resident awoke to the sound of someone trying to open his front and side doors. The home owner turned the front porch light on and scared off the suspect, according to police.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 20s, 5 feet 10 inches tall and 150 pounds.

Authorities are urging residents to lock their doors and windows and set alarms before going to bed.

Anyone with information should call the Arcadia Police Department at (626) 574-5150.
