Anaheim Janitors, Ushers Threaten Walkout At Angel Stadium
ANAHEIM (CBS) — The restrooms at Angel Stadium may get far less heavenly over the next few days if workers follow through with their threat to authorize a labor strike in response to a wage freeze instituted by stadium management.
SEIU United Service Workers, the union representing workers at the stadium, voted on Thursday to grant members the right to call a strike at any time, according to a union statement in the Los Angeles Times.
Janitors, ushers and ticket-takers are reportedly the lowest-paid at any of the major stadiums in California.
According to the SEIU, attendance at Anaheim Stadium is the fifth-highest in Major League Baseball.
