Victorville Woman Finds Stolen Jewelry Tossed In Her Yard

VICTORVILLE (CBS) — Proving one man’s trash is another man’s treasure, a Victorville woman found a discarded envelope in her yard and first thinking it was junk, ultimately discovered it was filled with jewelry.

Okay, we aren’t sure if it’s really pricey jewelry but police say it has value nonetheless.

Greg Mills, reporting for KCAL9, says the homeowner at first thought nothing of the envelope.

The sandwich-sized plastic bag, she thought, had to be filled with junk.

Before tossing it, the homeowner (who didn’t want her name disclosed) decided to look inside the bag and lo and behold fancy necklaces, rings and earrings.

She turned the stash over to the Victorville police department.

Reports Mills, “The items are so unique that when the rightful owner turns up to claim them and describes them accurately, there will be no doubt who is missing this property.”

Gee, what a great story. I wanted to get into the copy racket, but I guess I was just too damn wordy. Amazing how this guy took a dead news day and actually pried a story out. You coulda asked her what kind of pets she has, as well. That would really give you some copy to work with. Just sayin’.
