(CBS) — Major League Baseball’s non-waiver trade deadline is on July 31st, and the Dodgers are “sellers.” Keep it here for all updating rumors involving the Dodgers.
P- Hiroki Kuroda: Cleveland, Detoit, Texas, Cincinnati, Milwaukee, Boston, New York (AL)
Kuroda is being viewed as the best available starting pitcher on the market, (Jimenez may or may not be available). He also has a no-trade clause and will consider any team on a case-by-case basis. Very good chance he will get dealt, and the best part for the Dodgers, he probably comes back to LA next season.
Latest: 1:00p PST 7/28: Dodgers sent scouts to Detroit’s Minor-League Game to watch top 1oo prospect 3b -Nick Castellanos. Danny Knobler of CBSSports.com doesn’t think the Tigers would move Castellanos.
IF – Jamey Carroll: Milwaukee, Cleveland
Update: 7/28 1:30 pm: The Milwaukee Brewers have just acquired IF Felipe Lopez from Tampa Bay, taking away a possible destination for Carroll. Although the Brewers still have holes to fill on the infield with Rickie Weeks going to the DL.
SS- Rafael Furcal: Milwaukee, St. Louis, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Atlanta
Furcal is starting to gather some interest, however with his injury risks and awful numbers, the Dodgers aren’t expecting to get much in return.
Prediction: St. Louis
Update: 7/28 11:55
Ken Rosenthal reports the Brewers are doing their background work on Furcal, but the Dodgers will not trade both Carroll and Furcal
OF – Andre Ethier
Why not? Ethier has made it clear he will walk at the end of next season if the Dodgers ownership issue isn’t resolved. New York Mets OF Carlos Beltran is the hottest name on the trading block, but if the Dodgers do decide to move Ethier, they could command a very nice package of prospects.
1B – James Loney:
The Dodgers have soured so much on Loney that they might move him for next to nothing.
Loney could be a great fit for a team looking for an outstanding defensive 1st baseman.
Others who may be dealt:
Tony Gwynn, Aaron Miles, Juan Uribe (big contract), Dioner Navarro, Rod Barajas, Mike MacDougal, Ted Lilly (big contract), Hong-Chih Kuo, Blake Hawksworth, Matt Guerrier (big contract)
