Colfax Bridge Reopens After 2 Years Of Construction

STUDIO CITY (CBS) — Residents and drivers in the Studio City area of the San Fernando Valley may have a shorter commute now that the Colfax Bridge has been reopened after two years of construction.

The bridge, which is one of the most popular shortcuts for people looking to avoid traffic on Laurel Canyon, goes over the Los Angeles River between Ventura Boulevard and the 101 Freeway.

The bridge was closed to widen and modernize the overpass.

It also features a wider arched base to meet the latest Caltrans earthquake requirements.
