LOS ANGELES (CBS) — The public is getting a chance to weigh in on a proposed NFL stadium for downtown Los Angeles.

A city council committee will hold a public meeting at City Hall Wednesday to discuss a draft memorandum of understanding with AEG, the company that wants to have an NFL team playing in Los Angeles by 2016.

The 5:30 p.m. meeting will cover proposals for a $1.2 billion financing plan, a new convention hall and parking structures on city-owned land.

Another meeting will be held Thursday in Van Nuys.

How about a straight up NO STADIUM, if it is going to cost a single penny of taxpayer monies. When this proposal was first put in the table, even our big powerful Mayor put out a video that stated there would be no taxpayer monies used. Now they want to float bonds. This city can’t even support everyday services at this point, without raising taxes, fees. As originally planned, let the group that put this on the table pay for it lock, stock and barrel.

Bring the Los Angeles Chargers back home to Los Angeles.

A Native Angeleno and a Big Football, I hope the NFL continues to stay out of Los Angeles! They went to Texas because of the Money! The greedy Billionaire owners and private interest that take the financial risk to invest in their stadium if they want to come here. They build! They own it! We, tax payers ,have other more critical concerns and priorities dealing eith our budget crisis! We should put politicians on notice that they will be looking for a new job they do not make prudent decisions. TAX PAYER Stadiums are a thing of the past!

I love Football more than anyone living or dead. However, Los Angeles can’t take care of the mexicans having babies, what makes you think we can take care of 75-150 more athletes having more babies? Get real

What does Mexicans having babies have anything to do with football. Don’t hate bc we know how to do it better.

Downtown Los Angeles cannot handle the traffic that the NFL stadium would cause. That is just one of the major concerns I have – the second -
The citizens of Los Angeles SHOULD NOT USE THEIR TAX DOLLARS for such a project. ABSOLUTELY NO STADIUM IN DOWNTOWN LA – NO TAX PAYER BONDS, and NO MORE LIES ABOUT HOW IT WOULD BE PAID FOR !!!
