Amber Alert Called Off After 3-Year-Old Girl, Mother Found Safe

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Police have found a girl, believed to be abducted by her mother, safe in Los Angeles Tuesday.

Both mother and daughter are in police custody Tuesday evening.

Kawana Howard was reportedly abducted by her mother, also named Kawana, at about 10:30 a.m. from 1414 W. 94th Place in Los Angeles. Authorities issued an Amber Alert as they searched for the pair.

The girl was found with her mother at about 6 p.m. Tuesday, officials reported.

    A Mother CANNOT abduct her own daughter. If she wants to take her daughter she can…she is the mother.

    Not true! It depends on who has custody of the child. My daughter was abducted by her father 3 years ago & was found in a hotel room in another county.
