Attendees at the U.S. Conference of Mayors Summer Leadership Meeting at the JW Marriott hotel include John Podesta, the former White House of Chief of staff in the Clinton Administration.

Podesta -- tapped by President Barack Obama to spearhead his White House transition team — now serves as CEO for the Center for American progress, a liberal think tank in Washington.

The conference will include a one-hour round-table session on the debt issue called "Deficit, Debt Ceiling and Jobs: Putting the Pieces Together".
