After striking California gold in the 50′s real estate market and then diversifying into the insurance business — ultimately building two Fortune 500 companies — Eli Broad, along with his wife Edythe, are now devoting their time and resources to philanthropy.

Phil Hulett met with Eli Broad in his Century City office for a little history lesson, and Broad said every great city has been built on a vibrant center.
