Creditors Are Now Required To Share Reports, Scores
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Consumers who get turned down for poor credit are now entitled to see their credit reports, as well as their scores, for free.
New rules that just went into effect require creditors to send the information if they deny credit, or give less-than-favorable terms.
Previously, customers could get copies of their credit reports once a year from each of the three major credit bureaus, but that information didn't include the scores.
Before the new regulations went into effect, consumers had to pay to see their credit scores.
