LADOT Worker Fired for Appearing In Porn Video

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A Los Angeles Department of Transportation worker was fired for appearing in a pornographic video shot while he was on duty, city officials confirmed today.

John Dancler, a traffic officer who had been with the department for about 23 years, was fired Monday for "misconduct on the job and in uniform," according to Bruce Whidden, executive director for the Civil Service Commission.

Whidden said the grounds for firing included indecent acts such as "groping the bare breasts, spanking the buttocks and being straddled by an adult video actress in public."

The video, which was shot in March 2008, started circulating on the Internet in recent months.

Dancler has appealed the discharge and an initial hearing before the Civil Commission will be held July 28.
