Singer Sly Stone's Pretrial Hearing Postponed
VAN NUYS (CBS) — A pretrial hearing for singer Sly Stone on drug possession charges has been postponed.
The funk legend, whose real name is Sylvester Stewart, faces one count of possession of cocaine stemming from an April 1, arrest.
Lawyers for the 68-year-old say the cocaine allegedly found in Stone's jacket did not belong to him and are optimistic they'll win the case.
As Stone left the courthouse, he stopped and signed autographs to promote his comeback album "I'm Back! Family & Friends." It is expected to be released next month.
