Police: Son Used Kitchen Knife To Kill Detective, Daughter

SAN DIEGO (CBS) — Police on Monday arrested a family member accused of killing a respected Southland police detective and her daughter in their home.

Donna Williams, 52, and her daughter Brianna, 18, were found stabbed to death in their Rancho Penasquitos home on Sunday.

KNX 1070's Tom Reopelle reports police have arrested Brian Williams, 24, as a suspect in the murder of his mother and sister.

"It's a big impact on everybody in the department, especially those in the child abuse unit," said San Diego Police Capt. Jim Collins.

"We are a family, and a case like this is devastating," he added.

The 31-year veteran detective was known affectionately as the "Queen Mother" for her work in the city's child abuse unit.

Police said the son used a kitchen knife to kill his mother and sister.
