LOS ANGELES (CBS)— The Automobile Club of Southern California revealed its 2011 Top Ten “Green” Vehicles list Monday in its just-released 2011 Green Car Guide.

Auto Club’s Automotive Research Center Manager Steve Mazor said 62 cars were tested, based on overall score and value.

KNX 1070′s John Brooks Reports

The Toyota Highlander Hybrid claimed the top spot overall. Mazor said the Highlander gets about 28 miles per gallon with very low emissions, performs well and has all the amenities drivers want in a modern SUV.

In the “Best Value” category, the 2011 Scion xD came out on top. The Mazda 2, Honda Fit, Chevrolet Cruze Eco and Kia Soul completed the list.
