2 Arrests After Man Shot Dead At LA Strip Club

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Authorities say a man was shot dead at a Los Angeles strip club and another man and an employee of the club have been arrested.

Officers responding to a report of a shooting late Friday at VIP Showgirls in North Hollywood found a man inside suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim, 30-year-old Thomas Valdez of Santa Clarita, was declared dead at the scene a short time later, according to a police news release.

Detectives believe Valdez and the suspect, 30-year-old Forte Ramonta of North Hollywood, became involved in an altercation that escalated.

Ramonta ran from the location with his girlfriend, 22-year-old Anna Baez, an employee of the club. Both were quickly detained in a nearby park.

Ramonta was booked on suspicion of murder and is being held on $1 million bail. Baez was booked on suspicion of accessory to murder.
