Ex-NFL Running Back Corey Dillon Pleads No Contest To Reckless Driving Charge

MALIBU (CBS) — Former NFL running back Corey Dillon pleaded no contest Friday to a misdemeanor reckless driving charge, according to the District Attorney's Office.

Dillon was arrested last year in Calabasas and charged with two misdemeanor counts for an alleged DUI.

Friday he  was sentenced to 24 months probation, a $250 fine and a 12-hour alcohol program.

Dillon entered the plea through his attorney, with an admission that alcohol was involved, according to Jane Robison of the D.A.'s Office.

The former Cincinnati Bengals and New England Patriots running back was pulled over about 3:40 a.m. on April 21, 2010, on northbound Mulholland Drive near the Ventura (101) Freeway.

Dillon, 36, played for the Bengals from 1997-2003, becoming their career rushing record holder with 8,016 yards, and Patriots from 2004-2006. He was a four-time Pro Bowl selection, set the NFL's single-game rushing record on Oct. 22, 2000 with 278 yards, and ran for a franchise-record 1,635 yards for the Patriots in 2004, helping the team to a Super Bowl title.
