PASADENA (CBS) — The second annual LA Street Food Fest Summer Tasting Event will be held this weekend at the Rose Bowl.

And as the name might suggest, it’s going to be a real mouthful!

Saturday’s festival at Brookside Park features more than 65 of Southern California’s best known and followed food trucks with a huge variety of cuisine.

“Our event is all about street food . . . . We have everything from an amazing selection of gourmet trucks to restaurants, chefs, even cart stands,” Organizer Shawna Dawson told KNX 1070’s Tom Haule.

The festival also will feature a group of chefs from Baja, Mexico who will cook for the first time in the United States.

“It’s likely that most of us don’t have the opportunity to travel to Baja to go experience some of the amazing culinary talents there. And in particular, we wouldn’t know where to go,” Dawson said.

Some dishes the Baja chefs will be creating include beef cheek tacos and sea urchin tostadas.

“We have entertainment, demos, music, its really just a fun day in the park to enjoy some amazing food and celebrate the best of LA,” Dawson said.

Admission to the festival can be purchased in advance online. A limited number of tickets available at the event. The $60 tickets include food, drinks, beer, cocktails, tequila tastings, giveaways, chef demos, kids activities and parking.

The event is broken up into two sessions: 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. features family friendly fun while the 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. session is for 21 years of age and older only. The 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. session has already sold out. Only 1,500 tickets are being sold for each portion of the festival.

Proceeds from ticket sales go to benefit the Downtown Women’s Shelter.

Uhhh yeah we’ll drive right out there… Get real!

  2. Krissy – Why you would even think about driving to the Rose Bowl? Drive to your nearest Metro park and ride and take the Gold Line to the Memorial Park station to hop on the event’s free shuttles. Or you could sit at home and complain. 🙂
