LOS ANGELES (CBS) — If you’re looking for a boost after exercising, red wine might be the perfect post-workout drink.

A new French study says resveratrol, the antioxidant in red wine, can slow muscle deterioration.

Researchers say the antioxidant preserves muscle fiber by maintaining a common protein found in muscle cells.

Experts specifically recommend Pinot noir, which has the highest concentration of the muscle-building nutrient.
