Diver Dies After Being Rescued At Laguna Beach

LAGUNA BEACH  (AP) — A diver pulled from the water at Laguna Beach has died.

Police Lt. Jason Kravetz tells The Orange County Register in a statement that the diver was spotted struggling in the water at 1:10 p.m. Tuesday.

A second diver was also being tossed around in the water, but got to shore and got rid of his diving gear, then jumped back into the water to rescue his partner.

Emergency responders tried to resuscitate the man before he was flown to Mission Hospital by helicopter and pronounced dead.
