Royal Couple Leaves SoCal, Ending First Foreign Tour

LOS ANGELES (CBS/AP) — The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge left Los Angeles International Airport Sunday afternoon, concluding their first foreign tour, which saw them crisscross Canada for nine days before coming to Southern California for a busy weekend.

Prince William and his wife Catherine spent their last day in Southern California visiting a job fair in Culver City aimed at finding jobs for veterans.

Earlier Sunday, the newly married couple were welcomed to the Inner City Arts academy by six elementary-aged children holding a welcome banner while a crowd of about 150 people looked on.

On Saturday night, Prince William and Princess Catherine hit the red carpet in style before attending a gala hosted by the British Academy for Television and Arts.

The event, held at the ornate Belasco Theatre, drew Hollywood's biggest stars, including Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson, Barbra Streisand and Jennifer Lopez, to name a few.

Earlier that day, they attended a charity polo match at the Santa Barbara Polo Charity & Racquet Club, where Prince William scored four goals for his team.

After arriving at the fair and speaking with veterans, the duke and duchess plan to help prepare care packages for children of deployed service members and then they will head back to the U.K.
