Royals William And Catherine Arrive At LAX
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, that's William and Catherine to you common folk, have arrived in California to kick off their three-day jaunt around the Southland.
Jolly good show!
Prince William and Kate touched down just before 4 p.m. (tea time, natch!) Friday in a Canadian military jet.
The royal duo was greeted by a Who's Who of California, including Governor Jerry Brown ("hello Guv'nor!") as well as Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa of Los Angeles and the British Ambassador and British Consul-General Dame Barbara Hay.
But the dame everyone had eyes on, of course, was Kate. She appeared in a stunning nude-colored knee-length sheath dress.
William didn't look too shabby either. He worea navy blue suit with a purple tie. Cheerio!
They climbed into a black Range Rover and headed for their first event, a technology summit.
They were part of a 12-car motorcade that ambled through West LA, Century City and Beverly Hills.
Throughout the route, small crowds of well-wishers stood and waved to the glam young couple.
