South 110 Freeway Closed While Police Search For Evidence From Pursuit
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — The southbound Harbor (110) Freeway was closed for over an hour Friday morning near the Santa Monica (10) Freeway, where officers were looking for evidence that may have been thrown from a van that was chased by police.
The chase started in downtown Los Angeles around 8:15 a.m. after police attempted to stop a vehicle possibly involved in an assault case.
The chase ended in Carson where three men were arrested.
The southbound 110 Freeway was closed at Slauson Avenue in South Los Angeles for about 15 minutes beginning at about 8:50 a.m. while investigators sought evidence in the case, the California Highway Patrol said.
The freeway was reopened for about 20 minutes, and then again was closed, this time at Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, for an additional search that began after 10 a.m., officials said.
The freeway was reopened after 11 a.m.
