Student Arrested In Bloomington High Arson Fire

BLOOMINGTON (AP) — Arson investigators say an 18-year-old Bloomington High School student has been arrested for allegedly setting a May 21 fire that gutted the school's administration building.

San Bernardino County Deputy Fire Marshal Mike Horton told the San Bernardino Sun that Jovanny Lua was arrested around 10 a.m. Wednesday while attending a summer school class at the high school.

He was booked for investigation of arson and burglary. Bail was set at $125,000.

Officials say the fire caused an estimated $400,000 in damages and displaced about 35 school employees. Construction on a new administrative building has not yet begun.
