BLOOMINGTON (AP) — Arson investigators say an 18-year-old Bloomington High School student has been arrested for allegedly setting a May 21 fire that gutted the school’s administration building.

San Bernardino County Deputy Fire Marshal Mike Horton told the San Bernardino Sun that Jovanny Lua was arrested around 10 a.m. Wednesday while attending a summer school class at the high school.

He was booked for investigation of arson and burglary. Bail was set at $125,000.

Officials say the fire caused an estimated $400,000 in damages and displaced about 35 school employees. Construction on a new administrative building has not yet begun.

He accomplished NOTHING by setting that building on fire….He did however manage to cause devastation and disappointment throughout the high school and among the students and faculty at Bloomington High School and therefore he must and will suffer the consequences.

  2. BHS Student says:

Everyone at school suspected him the week after the fire; he showed up to school with burns on his arms and face!

Why would you guys just jump to conclusiones like that? You guys a quick to point the finger and open your mouths about something you guys obviously know nothing about!!! Jovanny Lua is a good young man he is my little brother and he would never do anything like this. Jovanny was in AZ the weekend this happened visiting me and got burnt playing with a motor cycle. I personally took him to the hospital in bullhead city AZ then he was taken in ambulance to las Vegas for about a week. I stayed at the hospital with him the whole time. Why would he do anything like this anyways Jovanny is a good guy he has never been in any kind of trouble he plays sports and is in rotc. It’s been 2 months that he’s been in jail for nothing I love and miss my little brother very much and just wish for him to return home with is family and wife.
