Kershaw Helps Dodgers Snap Skid In Front Of 56,000 At Dodger Stadium

(CBS) -- An announced crowd of 56,000 watched the Dodgers avoid their first ever four-game sweep at Dodger Stadium by the New York Mets, ending an overall five-game losing streak, beating the Mets 6-0.

While the crowd came for the Andre Ethier bobblehead, it was the All-Star Clayton Kershaw (9-4) who stole the show.

The 23-year-old pitched eight scoreless innings, allowing five hits, while striking out nine and walking two.

The Dodgers broke things open in the sixth inning, scoring five runs, highlighted by fellow All-Star Matt Kemp's two-run double.

It was the second sellout during the four-game series, on Monday night the crowd watched a 4th of July fireworks show.
