Suspect Sketch, Vehicle Photo Released In Rio Hondo Park Assault

PICO RIVERA (CBS) — Investigators Tuesday released a sketch and photo of a minivan that they said was driven by a suspected child molester.

The man allegedly sexually assaulted a 6-year-old boy at Rio Hondo Park in Pico Rivera on Saturday, according to L.A. sheriff's deputies.

They described him as about 6 feet tall and weighing 200 pounds with tattoos on his neck and an arm. Deputies said he was driving a white minivan.

Deputies believe the suspect drove a white minivan with a partial license plate beginning with "6J."

Relatives of the boy got a partial California license plate beginning with "6J".

Deputies said the boy was using a bathroom at the park Saturday afternoon, when the assault happened.

The boy immediately told his mother what happened, deputies said.

Investigators asked anyone with information to contact their Special Victims Bureau at (877) 710-LASD or "Crime Stoppers" at (800) 222-TIPS to remain anonymous.
