DOVER, Del. (AP) — The Los Angeles Dodgers are asking a Delaware judge to order Major League Baseball to turn over documents related to the league’s opposition to the team’s proposed bankruptcy financing plan.
According to a motion filed Tuesday, a Sunday conference call between league and team attorneys highlighted a disagreement over the documents that MLB was willing to turn over, prompting the latest court filing.
The team is seeking records it believes will show the league’s lack of good faith in dealing with the Dodgers, including trying to prevent the team from arranging financing with a lender of its own choosing.
A court teleconference to consider the motion was scheduled for Thursday, in advance of a July 20 hearing on the team’s proposed financing.
