9 Firefighters Injured In Palmdale Crash

PALMDALE (CBS) — Nine firefighters were injured Monday night when their service truck crashed in Palmdale.

The accident took place at 9:30 p.m. when the 29-year-old driver of a U.S. Forest truck swerved to avoid a dog.

The vehicle rolled over near Mount Emma Road, just east of Cheseboro Road.

Three passengers were airlifted to local hospitals and six others were taken by ambulance.

Two firefighters are still being treated at County-USC Medical Center, but seven others were released.

All of the firefighters were wearing their seatbelts.

Nearby residents found a German Shepherd walking down the road shortly after the truck overturned.

Los Angeles Animal Control confirmed to CBS2 that a German Shepherd was admitted to the Lancaster office Tuesday morning.

Forest service investigators are hoping to tow away the truck Tuesday afternoon.

No arrests were made.
