Loved Ones Mourn Teen Killed By Fontana Train

FONTANA (CBS) — A makeshift memorial was set up and vigil held near the tracks where a 15-year-old boy was struck and killed by a Metrolink train.

Fontana police believe Ricky Lizarraga, who was biking home from a friend's house, had headphones on and went through the warning lights and bars just before being struck Thursday night.

The coroner's office told family the express train was going 80 miles per hour when it hit Lizarraga and dragged his body two blocks.

The coroner was only able to identify him through certain details, like his bicycle.

"It was black framing but earlier that day a friend of his had painted it white and they were able to verify that it was black framing underneath and had been recently sprayed white," Salvador Camacho, the victim's uncle, said.

Friends are now selling "In Loving Memory" T-shirts to raise money for the family.
