Shannon Brown Opts Out Of Contract, Becomes Free Agent

(CBS) -- Just hours before the NBA heads towards a lockout, Shannon Brown has elected to become a free agent.

Brown declined to exercise an option in his contract that would have paid him a little more than $2 million this upcoming season.

The NBA announced on Thursday that it will lockout its players at 9:01 pm PT Thursday, no roster moves will be made during a lockout.
