Father, Son Charged In Pit Bull Attack During Alleged Robbery Attempt

WHITTIER (CBS) — Charges have been brought against a Whittier man and his teenage son accused in a vicious pit bull attack on an apparent robbery victim.

Richard Aragon, 51, pleaded not guilty late Tuesday afternoon to one count of mayhem, assault with a deadly weapon and assault by means likely to produce great bodily harm.

He is due back in court on July 11 for a hearing to determine if there is enough evidence to require him to stand trial.

His 17-year-old son, whose name is being withheld, is also expected to be arraigned Wednesday on one count each of attempted robbery and witness intimidation and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, KNX 1070’s Claudia Peschiutta.

The younger Aragon is accused of confronting a 43-year-old man and demanding his wallet about 9 p.m. Saturday.

When the man refused to give up his wallet, police say that’s when a fight ensued and the older Aragon allegedly unleashed the pit bull.

“The dog bit off the man’s, the victim’s ear tips on both sides,” D.A. spokesperson Jane Robison says. “Prosecutors are seeking to have him tried as an adult.”

Los Angeles County Animal Control seized the pit bull, which was quarantined.

I guess the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. And both these guys are not even locked up pending trial.

Oh great, another bunch of idiots giving Pit Bulls a bad name! As far as Rob’s dumbazz comment, why you throwin the race in the mix…dumb Mexicans?? Seems like your as ignorant as the owners. White trash, “dumb Mexicans”, blacks, sports stars, music stars, lots of people own Pit Bulls and all races have idiots in them, but pulling the race card helps no one in the end.

This this paragraph’s structure could use a little fixing:
“The dog bit off the man’s, the victim’s ear tips on both sides,” D.A. spokesperson Jane Robison says. “Prosecutors are seeking to have him tried as an adult.” So who are they seeking to have tried as an adult? The dog or the victim? LMAO!

Yeah, I had the same question. Thanks for pointing it out. Sometimes I wonder where they hire these reporters from and who does their proofreading.

Stupid illegals running rampant again. This may be acceptable in Mexico but not here! Whittier used to be a nice area until illegals started renting!

  5. Brian Lynch says:

“Your in the ghetto”, no capitalization, and horrifically incorrect punctuation throughout your comment,, and you have the nerve to call other people dumb and ignorant?

  6. Jimmy Lopez says:

That same teenage thug also robbed my cousin of his cell phone and wallet about a month ago and in the same area. Except that time, it was the teenage thug who threaten to attack the victim with the pit bull. Too bad my cousin lives out of town, or he would be more than happy to show up to court and testify against the thugs. Although there was a police report filed with the police dept. Hopefully, they put two- and- two together…

  7. Lu Johnson says:

Get rid of the illegals, get rid of the pit bulls, and a WHOLE buncha mayhem and cost to society and lives simply vanishes! It’s easy and it’s free and the LAWS already exist to do it!!!

Let’s get it started…Whose with me!???
