Missing Bell Teen With Mental Disability Found Safe In Gardena

BELL (CBS) — A 17-year-old girl with a mental disability, who last seen Saturday, was found safe Tuesday night in Gardena by Bell Police Department detectives.

Ashley Elein Scott was located at approximately 8 p.m., according to Tom Rodriguez of the Bell Police Department. Preliminary interviews indicate she was not a victim of a crime, Rodriguez said.

Scott was dropped off at Bell High School by her parents Friday, but did not attend classes, according to school staff, who called her family.

When she didn't return by evening, the teen's parents called police to report her missing, according to the Bell Police Department.

Scott stopped to see friends Saturday in the 500 block of Elizabeth Street. She was accompanied by an unidentified man believed to be in his 20s she called her boyfriend, police said.
