SOUTH GATE (CBS) — A suspect was killed early Monday morning after he was shot by an officer in South Gate.

The officer-involved shooting occurred outside of the Gatewayy Inn motel, 8911 Atlantic Avenue, at about 3 a.m., South Gate police said.

Police shut down both directions of Atlantic Boulevard as they investigated. It was unclear what led to the shooting.
