Overnight Closures Expected Along 5 Freeway Starting Sunday

PACOIMA (CBS) — It could be a tough go on the Golden State (5) Freeway across the San Fernando Valley starting at 8 p.m. Sunday.

Up to two lanes in each direction of Interstate 5 are expected to be shut down between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. each day, starting Sunday night and ending Friday morning.

The closures are part of $140 million widening project between "170 split" and the Reagan (118) Freeway interchange.

Ramps at Van Nuys Boulevard, Paxton Street and Branford Street will be closed during the overnight hours.

The project is expected to take a week to complete.
