No one was injured in the crash that occurred about 4:10 a.m. Saturday on Ranchito Avenue, Los Angeles police with the Valley Traffic Division said.

According to authorities, a 1988 Oldsmobile crashed through some glass and came to rest in the living room of the home.

But moments later, the car burst into flames, causing extensive damage to at least two rooms before firefighters doused the blaze, according to police and reports from the scene.

"It (the car) struck something inside the house. The vehicle melted inside the house. The house caught on fire," Sgt. David Mascarenas of the traffic unit said.

The driver apparently ran off and has not been seen.
