2 Arrested In Electric Daisy Carnival Wristband Scam

HACIENDA HEIGHTS (CBS) — Two men have been arrested in Las Vegas for allegedly selling bogus "all access" wristbands to the sold-old Electric Daisy Carnival.

Las Vegas Metropolitan police said 35-year-old Pathomrat Neil Kunawongse of Hacienda Heights and 37-year-old Aaron Leonard Hernandez of Corona were booked Saturday on conspiracy to commit a crime and attempted forgery charges.

Kunawongse faces additional charges of burglary, attempting to obtain money under false pretenses and possession of stolen property while Hernandez was also booked on suspicion of obtaining money under false pretenses.

The event's promoter, Insomniac Inc., notified police of the scam and authorities seized about $1 million worth of counterfeit wristbands that were ordered from an out-of-state supplier.

The popular rave, previously held in Los Angeles, moved to Las Vegas this year.
