Vanderhook Returns To Fullerton As Baseball Coach

FULLERTON (AP) -- Rick Vanderhook is returning to Cal State Fullerton as baseball coach.

Athletic director Brian Quinn said Friday that Vanderhook received a three-year contract through the 2014 season.

Vanderhook returns to Fullerton, where he spent 25 years as a player and assistant coach under Augie Garrido, Larry Cochell, George Horton and Dave Serrano.

Vanderhook spent the last three seasons as an assistant at UCLA, where he helped lead the Bruins to a Pac-10 conference title, a pair of postseason appearances and a runner-up finish at last year's College World Series.

Vanderhook played on the Titans' 1984 national title team, and won three other championships with them.
