LOS ANGELES (CBS) — KCBS-TV News anchor Pat Harvey will guest co-host on THE TALK, Monday, June 27, 2011 (1:00-2:00 PM, PT). Harvey will join co-hosts Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Holly Robinson Peete and Leah Remini. Throughout the week, news anchors from five CBS-owned stations around the country will be in Los Angeles to serve as guest co-hosts, filling in for Julie Chen (who returns Monday, July 4).
Each day during the week of June 27 – July 1, THE TALK will feature a guest co-host: Tuesday, June 28, Karen Borta joins the show from KTVT CBS 11 in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas; Wednesday, June 29 is Lisa Hughes from WBZ-TV in Boston; Thursday, June 30 will feature Kristine Johnson from WCBS 2 in New York; and Friday, July 1, Susan Barnett joins the show from KYW-TV CBS 3 in Philadelphia.
Harvey is a multiple award-winning broadcast journalist who serves as co-anchor of CBS 2′s weekday 5 and 11 p.m. newscasts. She joined KCBS in April 2010 following 20 years with sister station KCAL 9 as one of the original anchors of the nation’s first nightly three-hour primetime newscast. In addition to her anchoring duties, Harvey regularly reports on issues of concern to Southern California and the world. Harvey is the recipient of two lifetime achievement awards: the Joseph M. Quinn Lifetime Achievement award from the L.A. Press Club in 2004 and the Golden Mike for Lifetime Achievement from the Radio and Television News Association in January 2010. An 18-time Emmy Award winner, Harvey was awarded the Emmy for a multiple report on basketball great “Magic” Johnson a decade after he was diagnosed with HIV. Other awards include being named “Best News Anchor” by the Associated Press, a national Emmy, five Golden Mikes, a national American Women in Radio & Television award, the Society of Professional Journalists Award for investigative reporting, the Edward R. Murrow Award presented to KCAL news for overall excellence and honors from the National Association of Black Journalists, L.A. Press Club and Hollywood Women’s Press Club. Harvey began her television career in 1976 in her native city of Detroit.
THE TALK, CBS’s new daily daytime talk show that examines topical events and contemporary issues through the eyes of five female hosts who are all mothers, airs weekdays (2:00-3:00 PM, ET; 1:00-2:00 PM, PT). THE TALK is hosted by Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Holly Robinson Peete and Leah Remini. John Redmann and Gilbert, who developed the show, are executive producers. Peter Johansen serves as Co-Executive producer.
