OC Pawn Shop Tip Led Police To $30K In Stolen Items From TSA Agent

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Police said on Friday they have recovered over $30,000 worth of stolen goods in the arrest of an LAX baggage screener.

Paul Yashou, 37, worked for the Transportation Security Administration in the lobby of Terminal One at LAX for nearly nine years before his arrest on Thursday.

He is accused of stealing items from passenger luggage and taking it home — sometimes even for a profit.

KNX 1070’s John Brooks reports a tip from a pawn shop in Irvine led police to Yashou and the stolen items.

Yashou is being held on felony burglary charges.

His arrest comes over one month after another TSA officer was busted for allegedly stealing items from a traveler’s suitcase at Terminal 6 at the nation’s second-busiest airport.

The pawn shops are full of stolen goods. This one tipped the police cause the thief did not want to leave tose goods for a few bucks, like most of the people do. The police can trace all the items in that pawn shop and probabbly charge the owner for buying stolen property.

It’s interesting how you see it as the pawn shop’s fault.

it’s interesting how you can see his comment and determine where he or she is putting fault, when if anything they’re implying that the shops are accessories to the crime if anything.

I recently had someone open a wrapped bottle of jam i my suitcase, take some out and then do a half baked rewrapped job. Not surprised about the theft, look who is being hired.,.,

I say put a rat trap in the suit case and see who get hurt can’t do nothing to me because you should not be going through my things besides if you have something illigal you can claim it is not yours because the last person in your suit case was the TSA when I use to live in the barracks in the navy I had money stolen from me so i bobby trap my dresser so mr thief got hurt taught him a lesson

TSA stealing things and molesting kids, yet another violation of our rights. Add it to the list of gov’t violations of our rights:
They violate the 1st Amendment by placing protesters in cages, banning books like “America Deceived II” and censoring the internet.
They violate the 2nd Amendment by confiscating guns.
They violate the 4th and 5th Amendment by molesting airline passengers.
They violate the entire Constitution by starting undeclared wars for foreign countries.
Impeach Obama, vote for Ron Paul.

Look at the typical TSA so called officer, don’t they look like con-man, ex-convict, tug. Where TSA gets this people, Talk about equal opportunity employer.

TSA requires applicants to be 18 and have a high school diploma. You cannot have any felony convictions. I applied a few years ago and the tests are not diffiicult, during my interview I knew more about TSA than my interviewers did. The applicants have no law enforcement training and there is no polygraph exam.

Why doesn’t TSA have cameras on their employees while inspecting baggage?
