Lancaster Man Arrested In Shooting Deaths Of Toddler, Uncle
LANCASTER (AP) — An 18-year-old man has been arrested in the shooting deaths of a 2-year-old boy and his uncle in South Los Angeles.
The Los Angeles Times says federal marshals took Jaquain Smith into custody Thursday outside his home in Lancaster.
Police say Smith is suspected in the shooting last month of Joshua Montes and his uncle, Josefat Canchola. Both were struck in the head as Canchola held little Joshua in his arms. They died at a hospital.
Police say the bullets were intended for rival gang members.
Davion McClelland, 18, was charged earlier this month with two counts of murder and two counts of attempted murder involving the intended targets.
