(CBS) — He predicted he would go as high as 15 to the Pacers, he was one pick off; Nikola Vucevic has been selected by the Philadelphia 76ers at number 16.
The 6″11 big man left USC after his JR. year for the NBA.
Vucevic becomes the 3rd player from the Pac-10 conference to be drafted, surpassing the total from the 2010 draft. He averaged 17 points and 10 rebounds as a JR for USC. His Sophomore year he was named the most improved player in the Pac-10.
No players from UCLA were drafted in the first round.
It’s the first time since 1994, a Trojan was drafted in the first round and a Bruin wasn’t. (Roderick Rhodes)
