Teacher Enters Plea In Teen Drug, Sex Case

SAN BERNARDINO (AP) — A California school teacher arrested for giving a teenager drugs and asking the boy for nude photographs has pleaded guilty to giving drugs to a minor as part of a plea deal.

San Bernardino County prosecutors say 32-year-old Michael Jacob Edmondson of Rancho Cucamonga entered the plea Wednesday in a deal that calls for dismissal of a child pornography count.

The social studies teacher at Rialto's Frisbie Middle School will be sentenced July 21 to five years of probation, which will include one year at a live-in rehabilitation program.

The San Bernardino County Sun says Edmondson, who has been on unpaid leave since his March 30 arrest, cannot have any contact with minors and he must forfeit his teaching credential.
