LA Man Arrested In Seattle Terrorist Plot

SEATTLE (CBS) —  A Los Angeles area resident and another man have been arrested in connection with a terror plot to attack a military recruiting station in Seattle, according to the Department of Justice.

Walli Mujahidh, also known as Frederick Domingue Jr., of Los Angeles, and Abu Khalid Abdul-Latif, also known as Joseph Anthony Davis, of Seattle were arrested Wednesday.

A complaint alleges that the two men bought machine guns and planned to use them, in addition to grenades, in an attack on the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) in Seattle.

"These men intended to carry out a deadly attack against our military where they should be most safe, here at home," said U.S. Attorney Jenny A. Durkan.

The Seattle Police Department first became aware of the threat when a citizen said that they had been approached to participate in the attack, according to the Department of Justice. Police then notified the FBI who began monitoring the suspects.

Mujahidh, 32 and Abdul-Latif, 33, were scheduled to make their first court appearances Thursday afternoon. They are charged with conspiracy to murder officers and employees of the United States, conspiracy to use a weapon of mass destruction (grenades), and possession of firearms in furtherance of crimes of violence.

Abdul-Latif and Mujahidh are both facing life in prison if convicted.
