WPA Art On Display In New Exhibit In Long Beach

LONG BEACH (CBS) — Yes, everything old is new again.

Some artworks dating back to the formation of the New Deal's (that's FDR for you youngin's) Works Progress Administration (WPA) are on display at schools throughout Long Beach and the Long Beach Historical Society (4620 Atlantic Ave.)

Many of those Depression-era federally-funded projects still appear on Long Beach streets and in buildings around the city.

A new exhibit showcasing some of the best is being readied for the public. It's called "Rebuilding For the Future."

The first program kicks off July 23rd and will run at various venues through November.
