Several Sex Offenders Nabbed For Parole Violations At Motel In Wilmington

WILMINGTON (AP) — Los Angeles police and FBI agents have arrested eight people in a raid at a Wilmington motel where convicted child molesters and registered sex offenders lived.

LAPD Det. Patricia Batts told the Los Angeles Times that officers found stuffed animals, teen magazines and children's underwear at the Harbor Inn, items which can be used to lure young
children.

Batts says the men were arrested Friday on parole violations including having child pornography and narcotics.

She says most were middle-aged men whose previous offenses included lewd and lascivious conduct with children or other sex crimes.

The raid was organized in response to reports that children were visiting the motel.

Batts says authorities had received reports of children coming in and out, although no evidence of that turned up during the raid.
