Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (June 20)

STUDIO CITY (CBS) — After a gloomy weekend in the Southland, we are preparing for some warmer temperatures to start off the new work week.

A ridge of high pressure will move in over the next 72 hours. This high pressure center should squash out the marine layer and bring inland temperatures to well above average levels, with some of the inland valleys reaching towards the century mark.

That ridge flattens for the end of the week, when we will cool off and see the return of the marine layer.

Temperatures will also back down to near or below average.

Coastal - low 70s
Basin - upper 70s
Valleys -upper 80s
Deserts - upper 90s
Mountains - low 80s
