LOST HILLS (CBS) — The pilot of a small helicopter used for spray agricultural operations suffered minor injuries after making a hard landing near Lost Hills.
Firefighters were sent to the area of Main Drain Road after receiving a call of a helicopter down about 7:45 a.m, Sunday, a news release issued by the Kern County Fire Department said.
The pilot, identified as a 50-year-old man, was able to extricate himself from the chopper and was taken to an area hospital, according to authorities.
The cause of the crash is being investigated, but authorities say engine trouble may be to blame.
